I decided to try out the 24p mode for the project and see how the Blu Rays looked. I spent hours editing all my videos to be perfect. I tweaked all my audio gains and pans and got the 5. Rendering still takes forever like before Usually times as long as whatever you are rendering The Next Afternoon after work I started the Disc project.
I tried setting all the settings the same, but was unable to get them all. What is up with that garbage? We get Blu Ray support for new levels of video production, but audio from 10 years ago? What happened to all this 5. Apparently you can get it when burning a video only from the timeline, but can’t make a disc with it After getting all my media and custom menus with all the themes and button restrictions and everything I wanted I went to create the disc.
It gives me all kinds of warnings- It is going to be reconverting all my 5. So, now I let it set another 7 hours re-rendering and making an iso file I’d much rather just have the files which I then burn with ImgBurn because I never trust the burn engines in these things. I put the Disc in my Blu Ray Player and it in fact played right at 24p that it said «wasn’t supported», so all it did was re-compress everything making it look horrible and the PCM Stereo ruined my perfect 5.
I had Markers all made for chapter points too and they worked fine for my Scene Select menus and when playing in the preview before making the disc, but trying to actually skip chapters when the movie is playing doesn’t work I can only go back to the menu and use Scene Select to change chapters??? There is also no time, chapter, or title info when pressing the info button on my player while it is playing.
I went back and made stereo copies of my audio direct so they are only compressed only the one time, but was unable to get a p video at any format to not get the 24p warning Even without the video in 24fps or some other not supported error in the Disc creation process. Best result I was able to get was p at 60fps that didn’t have the warnings. Less quality, but at least I got more frames to make up for it.
Still no 5. Looks OK in the end, but I’m not impressed by any means. This is with the latest software updates on both too. Best deal I can hope for is using it for upgrading to Pro which it looks like they are trying to force this time around. Pretty lame they way they had you spend hours getting the perfect video only to spring their false advertising on you when making the disc. I still have to render and make 4 DVDs of the last event too, and they better not have messed that side up or my next comments will be to the BBB.

I’ve done a fair amount of video capturing and editing for my youtube channel. There seems to be things I can do easily with each different programs.
For instance Windows movie maker is really easy to clip video together and trim it on the spot where as sony vegas does this to of course but there is a lot more to it and its very time consuming.
I could spend 30 mins using Vegas or 10 using Movie maker to get the same results. And I knew that when I purchase this Suite. The things that I wanted was more content, transitions and audio functionality. Vegas comes with sound forge which is a nice add on, also it comes with the Karaoke voice removal tools another bonus and DVD Architect Studio which is nice replacement for my old Nero software.
First off if you want the content such as FX and sound effects and music you have to insert the installation DVD then just open folder to view files, The folder named Content contains all the bonus media. You can just drag and drop it into the folder of your choice. It has music tracks but more like 30 that are just trimmed down from there orginal 3min format into various smaller clips, so there is not actually different music tracks.
The sound effects are the same, 10 clips of bells ect. Of course you have the option to purchase more content through Sony. TOOLS: This program is loaded with a ton of tools, trimers, editors all kinds of goodies but there is a steep learning curve. Sound forge alone is worth it. Cons: Stability: My main issue with this program is its not very stable, its definitely not my computer and I have capture programs, rippers and other editing software and have never had a problem, this program crashed 9 times last night to desktop and every time it wants me to reinstall the update that I’ve already installed as the solution, I have know clue as to why it does this.
You really have to be careful and save alot or you will lose data and work. Video editing: Well thats what the program is for but I don’t think it does this that well, actually I know it doesn’t do it that well.
I used cut clips from captured GTA5 online footage and dragged and dropped them all together. Some of the clips after saving to p MP4 are grainy and the movement is flickery specially after using test captions, where as even in Movie maker saving in p HD they look perfect with text captions but in Movie maker the text is the blurry part. Not really to sure why and its not really the reason I bought this but it would have been a bonus to just use one program to edit but looks like I will using multiple softwares to get the exact results I want.
Yes I am picky. Functionality: I just don’t like the interface that much, I had a hard time with the time line for example moving clips and adding transitions was a big pain. They get over lapped then it removes transitions from the other clips and you get to add everything all over again. So all in all this is a good deal, but I just feel it fall under the I like this category for me. I’m all about ease of use mixed with functionality, its not that I don’t like more perks but its the time consumption that has a huge factor on editing.
If some one could mix those then I would give it 5 stars Youtube Videos comparison using original clip, movie maker and Vegas: Vegas: youtu. I’ve upped my star rating to 4 to show that I’m overall very please with this software. Learned how to do PIP and accelerated video, slow motion and zoom in.
Love the text making in this program, it just renders it really well. I’ve also worked on my conversions and had why better luck converting to internet MP4 files.
They look great. You really can’t beat this deal, and I don’t think there has been much more added to 12 so at this cost point give it try you won’t be disappointed. Well after you watch a bunch of tutorials that is :.

Unfortunately Vegas Pro is a daunting program to learn with a lot of features a lot of average home users wouldn’t ordinarily use in their video productions like extensive sound remixing controls, special video format support, and multi-camera editing. It also lacks the built in wizards that Movie Studio have to aid a non-professional to the proper workflow for say out putting to DVD or to YouTube.
Sony has now added all the things I had switch to Pro for in the Movie Studio Platinum line as well as music, more effects, 3D movie editing, Blue Ray Disk authoring, and even slide show creation. The interface now has more flexibility with the editing Window at the top right of the screen where one more intuitively expects to see the effects ones edits.
Vegas Movie Studio is still not a terribly intuitive program to learn, but this version has a quick start tutorial DVD. I think for the advanced amatauer who doesn’t have the huge amount of money to clunk down for Sony Vegas Pro or the even more bank account draining Adobe Premier that they couldn’t go wrong than to buy this program.
Vegas is also gentle on system resources and is less likely to run out of memory or have choppy previews for high definition video editing than other editors I’ve used. I had tried Premier Elements before and disliked many of it’s intrusive automation features–I do not want the software to determine whether or not my clip is good enough to use and I loathe it’s media organizer.
It also requires an expensive annual membership to access all the available filters that come with the program and access to many online tutorials. Pinnacle Studio lacks true multi-track video editing as you are limited to your video track, a title track and one secondary track. Sony Vegas Movie Studio is really a powerful program with something for someone of every level.

Well put simply it no longer works and this is not by any fault of your own PC or setup, nope – we have Sony to thank for this.
There was a buy out of Magix Software and all their programmes which has resulted in the Vegas range of editing tools being withdrawn as far as i can see. However this has had a knock on effect of certain Microsoft Code which is required to be downloaded at installation of Movie Studio now no longer being valid and has been taken offline, this means you cannot complete the install of this software..!!!
All you get is an infuriating message telling you that you are offline even when your clearly NOT disconnected from the internet So all i can say is bad show on Amazon for not recognising there is an issue and still openly selling this product, and also beware – just because you have used it in the past like me, do NOT assume that this will work fine – it wont even install anymore.

Movie Studio Platinum 12 users have nothing to worry about, because V12 now comes as a 64 bit and 32 bit program. This is just way too low for any Video Editing program to work with properly. Once you throw a couple of HD Video files into Vegas, it’s going to completely freak out. RAM is cheap, so make sure you have a minimum 4GBs installled or more, if you are on a 64 bit computer.
