However, when I connect now a connection is still made showing connected on my pc , but my TV display remains black. The MS wireless display adapter app doesnt give me any option to update adapter firmware for example and it only says that I am not connected – I did de- and re-install the app. Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community. The issue might occur due to un-updated or incompatible wireless drivers. What is the make and model of wireless display adapter? I suggest you to check for the Wireless Display drivers on Microsoft Website and install them from the below link. Once you download the drivers try to install them in compatibility mode. Follow these steps to install the drivers in compatibility mode and check if that helps. And select Windows operating system from the drop down menu.

With my Windows 10 november update, I cannot right click the downloaded exe and choose «run in compatibility mode» but you can choose «troubleshoot compatibility», then I choose «try recommended settings» I downloaded the driver anyway and here I was able to right click, goto properties and run in compatibility mode – I tried for Win7 and Win8 but it returned the same error as noted above.

I also ran the troubleshooter with the same results as noted above. Thank you for updating us. It must be unfortunate that you are still facing the same issue. Now it doesn’t work at all. I have all the updates on both my computer and wireless display. I have uninstalled and reinstalled it numerous times.

– Microsoft wireless display adapter windows 10 not working free download

 

My wireless display adapter v2 the one with the windows 4 square logo seems to be stuck in a boot loop. Every time it powers on you get the white loading screen and then after a few seconds it turns off and restarts. I have tried the troubleshooting tips, but nothing is working so i thought i would try a hard reset using the button on the dongle The reset button isn’t doing anything, i hold it down for 10 seconds as instructed I have actually held it down much longer to check but the light never flashes and it doesn’t reset.

Was there any major change on your system, before which you weren’t facing this issue? The issue can occur if the device is faulty or the drivers are corrupted. I would request you to help us know the troubleshooting steps you have performed on the computer so that we can avoid the repetitive troubleshooting steps and check with work with new ones. However, I would suggest you to refer the article: Troubleshoot using the Microsoft Wireless Display Adapter and look for the sections Remove the adapter and reconnect , Allow the adapter to communicate through Windows Firewall , and Reinstall the Intel HD Graphics driver.
