Finally where is the noise reduction? That is a shame. These are my initial impressions after using the app for the first time. It would need selective edits, brushes, noise reduction, and masking on the sharpening tool. I can still use it in my workflow as a last stop to apply a filter. It would great for that because it has enough adjustment tools to fine tune the filter.
I also like the idea of machine learning to supplement my creative process. It suggested a nice crop which made my model seem taller in the frame. I will be using that idea in the future! Currently collapsing an individual tool removes the adjustment. I would love for Pixelmator to replace Lightroom for me. I could be free of my Adobe subscription plan forever! Are we able to refine the background removal?
For example, when I run the background removal action, part of my face is removed. Is it possible to adjust that in order to show those parts of my face again? Thank you. If you hold down the Option key when you click Remove Background, the background will be masked instead of deleted and you’ll be able to edit the mask manually.
An alternate way of achieving the same is using Select Subject , refining your selection and outputting it to a mask via the Select and Mask tool. The first option works best imho. Holding Command, click on the thumb of the HELL layer, which will create a marquee selection in the area of that layer. Use 30 pixels for the radius. After that, change the opacity to 60 percent. Use black and white for the colors. Then just change the b lending to Color Dodge and the opacity to 40 percent.
